So we've got just under 3 weeks to go until the wedding. Everything seems to be coming together. Heather still has several things to do. I've got a couple things to do, the biggest being moving to our new apartment. Hopefully I'll be getting a call within the next week letting me know that our apartment is ready to go. I still have lots of packing to do, but it shouldn't be too much work once I get going. I spent the weekend in AZ with Heather and we got our marriage license. When we went to the County Clerks office, we went to the room where they issue marriage licenses and passports and there was a security guard at the door that was assisting people coming into the room. He was an older man, probably in his 60's. Here's what he said to us, "Marriage license? Well, I'll tell you what you need to do. You want to start by getting one of those forms over there on the counter. Then go over to the wall and take a number. Then get the form filled out and wait for them to call your number." Then he looked at me and said, "And if you change your mind, the exits are that way." And he pointed down the hall. It was pretty funny. When we were finished filling out the form, we came back into the room to wait for them to call our number. When he saw us come back in he said, "Well it looks like she talked you into going through with it..." We just laughed. He was a funny old man.
While I'm talking about my upcoming marriage, I have a few words of advice to give people who have friends that are getting married. Stop asking them if they're getting nervous yet! You aren't the first person in the world to think of that. And even if you were, it's still not funny. If I'm nervous about getting married, I probably didn't think my decision through very well. I'm at the point where I just expect to be asked that question every time my marriage comes up in any conversation. Today was the first time in a while that didn't happen. Someone here at work said she heard I was getting married soon. When I told her it's less than 3 weeks, she said, "That's so exciting. You must be so happy." I was caught off guard for a second. So, I just wanted to let everyone in on that.

Yeah, I never had a witty answer to that lame question. I always just said not yet. But I did get nervous while driving to the temple. It wasn't about getting married though, it was about the fact that we were about 15 minutes late and my dad was driving along like it was a Sunday afternoon drive. I started to cry. But then we sang some songs and we got there and I saw my sweetie and everything was ok.
What did you guys sing?
I've got Rippling Water to Wake me...from the morning my woman in love....and tall pine trees are pointing me easily to heaven above...-Nitty Gritty Dirt Band
Of course the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, but also some of the Beattles. The drive is only about 20 minutes to the temple so we didn't have that long to sing, what with the hysterics in the beginning and all.
holy crap, you were at the salon getting your hair done FOREVER!
(this is directed at Maggiejo, not you Mattie)
So I have a lot of hair and it takes a long time to get done. I was getting really nervous at that point.
