A "Yay" and a sigh of relief
So, as you can tell by my previous post, my week didn't start out to be the greatest. I'm just now getting to the point where I'm not constantly kicking myself for not staying at the company Christmas party until the end. So, Monday was a pretty crappy day. It was followed by another pretty crappy experience. Yesterday morning, Heather called me right when I got to work to tell me that the truck wouldn't start. We were going to be driving the truck to Arizona today (Wednesday) to spend Christmas with Heather's family. Heather's brother-in-law was also going to try selling our truck for us. We have tickets to stay at a hotel in Vegas tonight and we would drive the rest of the way on Thursday. We have plane tickets to fly back the following Wednesday. Everything has been planned for quite some time, and yesterday the truck wouldn't start. My stress level was multiplied by about 10 or so. It was too late to cancel the hotel in Vegas without having to pay for it anyway. We could drive the car, but if we did, the plane tickets we bought would be useless and I don't know if we'd be able to get our money back on those. I'm surprised I slept at all last night. Well, Heather's cousin was nice enough to look at the truck for us last night and wasn't really sure what the problem was. He was going to come back over this morning and look at it in daylight. I got an update from Heather a couple hours ago and it was either going to be something simple and cheap or something really expensive. I figured, with my luck, it was easily going to be really expensive. I got a call from Heather about 20 minutes ago. The first word out of her mouth was, "Yay!" I breathed a deep sigh of relief. Our trip will continue as planned.
