I finally got a new camera!

I've been wanting a new camera for a couple years now. I reached a point where my old Point and Shoot digital camera wasn't enough for me. I wouldn't consider myself a pro by any means. I like to call my self an "advanced amateur/wannabe pro" photographer. However, I've been ready for a Digital SLR camera for a while. Well, my new camera arrived today after a week of torture and continual refreshes on the UPS tracking page. My very first DSLR camera is the Nikon D50 DSLR camera with the 18mm-55mm kit lens. Sure, it's low end as far as DSLRs go, but it's got the performance and most of the features that the high-end cameras have. I got a killer deal on the camera too. $475 with the lens. Why so cheap? It's a factory refurb. So far the camera is perfect. It looks brand new to me and seems to be in perfect condition. Definitely a great deal, since the kit retails for about $600 new. If you're looking to break into the DSLR realm, I can't say enough good things about this camera. Unfortunately, there aren't many interesting things to shoot here at my desk, or else I'd have some samples for you. Check back later and I might have something. You can also take a look at my Flickr page which I should be better at updating from now on.

Thats sweet, I have been waiting to get a new camera as well. Although, I still cannot afford it. Maybe sometime in the near future. I would like to see some pics when you get them. Take a couple of night shots, I have always wanted to see how they turnout on a DSLR cam.
